Italy Travel Guides

Italy is without a doubt one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, so there is a great deal of information available for anyone who wants to travel to Italy.

Travel guides about Italy can be classified in roughly 2 categories. The first category includes guides which contain all the relevant information about the locations in the country that are regularly visited by tourists, and the second category includes the travel guides which only provide particular information about one or two regions or cities.

A great many tour and travel operators, private publishers, and hotel and resort owners publish such travel guides. But it is always best to refer to the official web site and publications of the tourism board of Italy, as they provide authentic information all the time.

In some of the private travel guides, there might be a deliberate attempt to promote certain hotels, restaurants, resorts, shops, and what have you. This could actually mislead a tourist, especially one who is traveling to the country for the very first time.

Italy seems to have an endless number of tourist hot spots. Visiting all of them may not be possible for a single person, even during the course of a long vacation. So it is always better to go through a good travel guide related to Italy, select the locations and cities you want to visit and get your reservations well in advance. Most of the travel guides about Italy also provide information about hotels in various regions, along with a list of their rentals.

There are many online travel guides about Italy available on the Net, which will provide a lot of free information. There are also quite some news sites about Italy travel which also provide you with the data about hotels, deals, etc., which are not always available in Italy travel guides. And you can always check the websites that are run by the big Italian cities, which are always up to date with the latest information and deals about their own region.

Jamaica Villas For Caribbean Travelers

Many travelers assume that staying at one of the many Jamaica villas along the coast is like a vacation rental. It’s actually quite different for many reasons. For starters, these villas are more like palaces than a home. Also, the facilities, amenities and service found in a staffed villa would make a luxury hotel or resort seem like a cheap dump by comparison.

Commonly found amenities include air conditioning, internet, television, outdoor pools and a private beach or beach club. Some of the more upscale properties have facilities like helipads, fitness centers and a spa. Sports courts for tennis may also be available, and the bigger villas will also have function space for conferences and weddings.

Every villa is also staffed to the teeth with everything from a chef to a butler, housekeeping staff and a driver. A laundress and nannies are available on call, if necessary. Even the seafood is freshly caught locally and delivered to the chef each morning.

Life is good as a guest in Jamaica villas. All that guests do is laze around poolside or out on the patio with the butler hovering around with tall, cool drinks. If a guest can summon up enough energy to get out of a hammock or a poolside deckchair, then there’s plenty of things to see and do in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Negril and the other tourist hotspots.

Late evening, when the sun goes down and everything looks spookily beautiful, the butler comes up to announce that dinner is served. There’s something to be said for being able to dress casual when there’s a uniformed butler serving a candle light outdoor dinner by the pool. As for the meal, well, let’s just say that it’s not often that one gets to eat curried goat with coconut shrimp and jerk chicken.

For the kids, there’s a whole world of fun and loving care – which doesn’t have to come from the parents. The chef will prepare everything from burgers & fries to macaroni & cheese, pizzas and shakes for the children and salads for the health-conscious parent. Typical breakfast fare served in Jamaica villas includes banana plantains, pancakes, eggs & bacon, or cereal along with fresh fruits and freshly squeezed orange juice.
While the nanny keeps a close watch on the kids who’ll be digging up the whole beach and building sand-castles, parents can enjoy the vacation. This means enjoying the villa and the beach, or the golf courses and tennis courts, of which there are many all over the place. Not to mention zip lines and other fun adventures.

The beach is good for all kinds of activities during the day, including water sports and horseback riding on the beach. But the fun part usually begins after the sun goes down, with beach parties and barbeques. Every resort town in Jamaica also offers lots of urban pleasures, including shops & galleries, bars, restaurants and live music.

The Caribbean’s beauty combined with Jamaican food and hospitality is something worth experiencing once in a while, if not every year. It helps make the vacation all that much more memorable if guests have Caribbean villas with all its facilities, staff and privacy. Bottomline is that Jamaica can’t help but treat visitors to a good time.

Barbados Honeymoon Hotels And Travel Tips

For many a young bride & groom, a Barbados honeymoon is the perfect and fitting way to wrap up a dream wedding. This is mostly because Barbados combines the best of the Caribbean and the West. It has the modernity and hassle-free efficiency of the West and the colorful culture and climate of the Caribbean.
There’s also the fact that nowhere else on the planet are guests able to savor the pleasure of feasting on flying fish and glorious sunsets. Romance fills every pore, and the pulsing rhythm of calypso and jazz forces competes with the crickets for attention. The gentle light of a silvery moon bathes everything in the warm summer nights with a heavenly glow.

Caribbean magic aside, Barbados also takes pride in being third among developed nations in the Western hemisphere behind Canada and the US. The British influence is also very strong – a holdover from the colonial era. What all this means is that getting married and enjoying a honeymoon on this island nation is a very smooth and modern enterprise.

US, UK and Canadian passport holders do not require a visa. The legalities and paperwork surrounding weddings in Barbados has also been eased quite a bit in order to promote it as a destination wedding hotspot. All that is really needed is for the bride and groom to have identification (passport/birth certificates) and return tickets.

All the major hotels have professional wedding planners to take care of everything. This includes full wedding packages, catering, flower shops, bakery and wedding cake choices, etc. It also includes the honeymoon, of course. This makes a hotel stay in Barbados just as modern and culturally in sync as in North America or Western Europe.

All that is required for a dream wedding and Barbados honeymoon is to turn up and explain to the hotel that there’s a marriage that needs to be arranged for. Make sure the hotel offers a great ocean view and oodles of privacy. The rest, as they say, is history bottled in a wedding video.

England’s south west coast is one of the UK’s most popular spots for tourism and every year millions spend their holidays in Cornwall. Each coast has its own features and there are hundreds of beaches, some sandy, some made of pebbles, to be found along its great length.

The sea has also led to many local tales of pirates, smugglers and wreckers. Some of them true, others are works of fiction like Daphne du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn. Some museums have exhibitions on these subjects as well as other local history. Artists also flock to this part of the UK and there are many places to see their work around the county’s galleries.

Small fishing villages are a feature of the coastal parts and some areas are renowned for their seafood. Other local culinary delights to be enjoyed on holidays in Cornwall include the Cornish pasty, an individual pie. The traditional recipe is packed with beef, onions and root vegetables and these days some recipes are also suitable for vegetarians.

As a result, most of (if not all of) the island has many hotels, villas, apartments and even traditional cave houses that are situated on the dramatic cliffs that form most of the Santorini coastal line.

Making sure you find a good hotel on Santorini is a quite easy thing to do, since most places of accommodation tend to offer stunning views of the island and the coast. A top-floor room in a hotel is quite likely to offer memorable views of at least some part of the island, and with it, views of the south Aegean Sea. The first thing you should do is perform a web search for the popular hotels on Santorini, and for hotel review sites that provide comments and feedback from people who’ve stayed on the island. This will provide an idea of what hotels to avoid before you book.

You should always ask for a discount from any tour operator who provides you with rates for hotel bookings. Similarly with hotel booking sites, which also operate on a “kick-back” or admin fee basis, try and contact the hotel directly and see if you can secure the room or hotel you want at a reduced rate. Or you could use a price comparison website to search them for you!

There are a number of archaeological sites on the island, and with its steep coast lines, many of the islands major population areas offer stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the surrounding islands – one such place is Akrotiri, which is also near to the island’s vineyards – which drive Santorini’s flourishing but small wine industry.

Here is a great website, that will help you save allot of money on your Travel expenses.

Deciding On The Right Hotels In Menorca

Selecting from the choice of hotels in Menorca can be a tricky thing to judge if you just go off hear-say and personal recommendations. You can say the same thing about anywhere for that matter, so before you book anything, you need to make sure you’re selecting the right place, and the best deal for your holiday to Menorca.

The key thing to do is keep in mind your requirements and research the location, the local shops and amenities, along with everything you are likely to want to see and do, with the surrounding areas of each resort. If you go self-catering, make sure you don’t put yourself in a romantic, idyllic but remote part of the island where food, groceries and other essentials are likely to be a long journey away – it could easily spoil your holiday, so be careful!

Still unsure about where you should stay in Menorca? Why not try the many popular hotel booking and review websites? These offer feedback, comments and ratings from the people who have stayed on the island and its many hotels (though not all of the people have stayed in all the hotels, obviously). This will give you a good idea of what’s good (and bad) about each hotel.

For package deals, Menorca is perfect for families, as it tends to be quieter than it’s bigger and somewhat livelier Balearic counterpart, the larger (and nearby) Majorca. This said, Menorca offers something for all holiday goers, so again, just make sure you make your booking knowing that your choice can cater for your holiday. Resorts such as Santo Tomas, for example, are far quieter than the main towns and resorts, which offer livelier nightlife.

This said, there is also a great deal to see and do on the island, no matter where you happen to be staying, and getting around to the other side of the island and back again within a day is more than possible by car.

Florida, otherwise known as The Sunshine State is well known for a number of reasons. Starting with Disney in Orlando, right down to Miami and The Florida Keys., we have all heard of Florida in some way either in the news, through our familys or just watching the television.

Florida is perfect for many different types of holiday.

Not only that, but it provides sunshine and warmth all year round which means it’s ideal for people who want to get away from the cold climes during the winter months to get top up their tans and seek out the feel good sun factor of the UV rays.

Florida is many different things to different people. From seeking out the sun on the beaches of Miami to spending your hard earned dollars in one of the Malls, it really does have something for everyone.

If you are a young couple visiting Florida there is plenty to see and do. Taking a trip down to The Florida Keys is highly recommended. The 120 miles of scenery and experiences of swimming in the only living-coral barrier reef in the US is not an experience that should be taken lightly. There is no more versatile coral destination in the world!

If diving is not for you, or if you are travelling with the family then it makes sense for you to head to the North of Florida and visit Disney World. The Disney experience is simply awesome and more often than not requires more than one day on the resort. Treat your family to a few days on the park whilst staying in one of the on site themed hotels. Along side Disney there is also the Universal Studios Theme Park, where you can experience the magical world of movie making. Such a fantastic experience for your children (and those young at heart)

As with all the great holiday destinations in the world Florida has some fantastic beaches . With miles of golden sand coastlines the beaches are often crawling with people, not just soaking up the rays but taking part in beach sports such as soccer and volleyball.

The Island Of Palawan

We just just returned from a trip to the Philippines where we stumbled upon best new tourist destination in Asia and without doubt the high point of our trip. The Underground River on the beautiful tropical island of Palawan where we also experienced the most amazing surroundings I’m able to remember.

The vacation had been fabulous and we were having a time of our lives but several people advised us we should check out the Subterranean River. We had never heard about it but evidently it is the longest river worldwide that one can take a boat journey actually underground.

Hence we headed to Sabang and checked into the Sheridan Beach resort and that was superb. Amazing Five star world-class lodgings right there inside the national park and built to be 100 % eco-friendly with no impact on the environment. The national park is one of the most unspoiled and pristine rainforest areas still remaining in the entire world with lots of distinctive wild life and plants.

The Palawan Beach Resort is only a quick journey to the Underground River which is now regarded as on the list of natural wonders of the world and the environment friendly regional authorities on Palawan have been working hard to really make it available to as many people as is possible without allowing it to impact on the environment. Therefore you can now have the best of both worlds staying at world class luxury accommodation and at the same time be in one of the remaining remote and beautiful areas on the planet.
It absolutely was a brilliant experience I am going to remember for the remainder of my life. I highly recommend everyone visit it and take the boat ride.

You feel as though you’re in a another planet and it’s so really calming and stunning. We are returning next year and this time we’re going to spend the entire holiday on Palawan rather than a few nights which was not enough.

Introduction To Cambodia Culture

Cambodia is one of the most wonderful part on the earth. With Cambodia you could find a mixture of cultures of the Orient. Although Khmer culture, like any other cultures in the world is already much inspired by Western ideals, the strong influence of Hinduism and Buddhism is very much evident. For instance, the visual art which is one of the essential signature of Khmer culture is still shows the strong influence of Buddhism. Frankly, many buildings in Cambodia still have statues and also images of the Buddha.

In order to understand about Cambodia culture, let us look into the different cultural expressions of the place.
Religion part of Cambodia culture

Cambodia couldn’t be complete without its religious practices and religions. The same as most parts of Asia, religion in one of the focal points of the lives of the Khmer (Cambodian). If you take a look at the statistics, about 92% of the Cambodian people are Theravada Buddhist. The rest of people are a composed of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Animism.

Since Cambodia culture rely upon the ideas of Buddhism, the government of Cambodia Prefer Khmer Theravada Buddhism. All the monks in this place therefore get some government benefits such as the use of some public substructure. Technically, there is nothing strong separation of the church and the state under the Cambodia culture.

Food

Food is one of the hallmarks of Cambodia culture. Depend upon food specialists, the Cambodia cuisine is a mix of four Basic taste namely, sweet, sour, spicy and salty. Most Khmer cooking mix all these four fundamental taste. Apart of combining all four fundamental tastes, Cambodian cooking is also known for its hot flavor. Of course their blend of hot flavor isn’t really as hot as the Thailand cooking version but if you are sensitive to chili something hot on your food, you should take precautions before sampling some kinds of Cambodia food.

Traditions

Khmer culture is filled with distinctive traditions and customs. The most well known Khmer Custom is the way of greeting or acknowledgment. This kind of gesture is similar to the Indian Namaste (a simple spoken greeting or salutation used in Nepal and India) body language, that is qualified by a prayer hand position and the bowing our head. Usually, this gesture is used when you wanna welcome guesses and friends so if you dream to go to this country, you need to be familiar with this kind of greeting. You don’t really want to feel out place you meet new people.

Traveling & Place

All visitors that travel to Cambodia will also visit Angkor Wat temple in Siem Reap. Ankor Wat and the surrounding temples are so nice to be visited at sunrise and in the early morning and late in the afternoon time towards sunset. There are 2 reasons for this, the light makes a completely different atmosphere, and it is not very hot. Break up your day and avoid the heat of the sun. Your pass will be valid for as many visits as you wish – so get up early, and see the sites of Angkor Wat temple before it gets to hot. Then, from mid to the late morning morning, come back to your hotel in Siem Riep and unwind in the heat of the day. Next, when the weather become cool, go back to Angkor Wat for sunset.

Explore Cape Town

During the last few years, Cape Town has become a tourism hot-spot as many tourists have chosen it as their long distance holiday destination. As such, a lot of various Cape Town accommodation businesses have opened up as demand increased substantially. These include hotels, holiday homes, apartments, bed & breakfast guest houses and luxurious villas. With Table Mountain overlooking the entire Cape Town region, it is hard to argue that this is not one of the top tourism destinations in the world.

There are several attractions in Cape Town that make this city great. Table Mountain has to be mentioned as it can be called the landmark of Cape Town. It is also currently nominated as one of the new 7 natural wonders of the world. These results will be announced at the end of 2011. There are also several hiking trails going up Table Mountain ranging from a normal hike to professional rock-climbing trails. For those less adventurous, you can always take the cable car and you will be on top in about 10 minutes.

Even though you are not at the Kruger Park or Okavango Delta, you still have the opportunity to take part in a Cape Town safari. These are only a few km away from Cape Town and can be visited as part of a day tour. Most of the game parks also have accommodation nearby should you want to stay longer and do game drives to view wildlife for two or even three days.

You can also take several other tours around the city. The most popular one has to be exploring the Cape Peninsula. Here you will drive on the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive where many car commercials have been shot in the past. The view from this drive is just amazing. After about 1.5h you will arrive at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where you will visit the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. Here the old lighthouse is located. Take along strong shoes as you will do a lot of walking!

Another tour that has to be recommended is one exploring the Cape winelands where you can taste some of the best wines that Cape Town has to offer. Several vineyards have won numerous international acclaims and are very highly regarded my connoisseurs. Buying wine at the vineyards is much cheaper than buying bottles at a supermarket. Sometimes you can save up to 50% or even more.

Most people make the mistake of only coming to Cape Town for one week. This is not enough time to experience all the wonders of this amazing city. You will need at least 2 weeks to experience everything. Also, given that you have more time during a 2 week period, you will also be able to enjoy all the tours instead of rushing in order to see everything in as little time as possible.

Food Options In Vegas

Many people love going to Vegas. It’s one of those trips that people spend a long time planning, and then have a tremendous blast doing. Many people plan everything down to the last detail, including where they are going to stay, and what shows they are going to see, and what casino games they are going to try their luck in. However, many people don’t take the time to decide where they are going to eat. And since eating is important, you need to know where to go.

Of course, Vegas if famous for it’s buffets. This is where you pay a single price, and then load up your plate with as much as you can eat. If you love to eat, like most people do, then you will certainly love the endless buffets in this city. You can find pretty much any kind of food in them as well.

Buffets do have their disadvantages. For one, the quality isn’t always that great. The food is mass produced, and sits out under a hot lamp for a while. While some buffets are higher quality than others, they aren’t the most highly rated cuisine in town.

Of course, there is no shortage of world famous chefs in Sin City. Most of the higher end hotels have some top notch restaurants that have some cuisine that is absolutely out of this world. Of course, it is rather expensive, but you only live once. Give it a try.

If you enjoy late night meals for extremely cheap prices, then you’ll find plenty of options. Several of the lesser known casinos that are slightly off the main strip specialize in midnight meals. Here you can get steak and eggs for a couple bucks.

Naturally, most hotels will have a pretty good selection from their room service menu. So if you feel like eating but you don’t feel like leaving your hotel room, then this is the way you go. The food is pretty good, and it’s very convenient. So order room service and have some fun.

Without question, Vegas has a great supply of food for a variety of tastes. You’ll be sure to find and enjoy whatever you are looking for.
