Cabo, Mexico

We recently took a trip to Mexico and decided to stay in Cabo for a week. Wow, what a Great holiday!

We stayed at Hacienda Del Mar which is a Sheraton resort and I musty truly say, we had the best time of our lives there. The overall feel of the resort is very Mexican and the staff was more than helpful with anything we wanted.

The swimming pools around the resort were awesome and we checked in every morning very early to get a nice spot by the pool and then only went down later on to start drinking some cocktails once happy hour started. We layed by the pool and just soaked up the sun and enjoyed every moment of Cabo while we were there.

We also went into town a few days and Cabo, like its known, was party capital. There are a variety of restaurants by the waterfront and clubs if you want go out clubbing at night.

We took a water taxi a few times and went down to the main beach, where there was loads of activities, from Jet ski hire, to taking cruises and we off course took ma awesome cruise on this party boat and went our snorkeling with a bunch of people.

Cabo is great and would recommend it o anyone planning a holiday to Mexico.

Umhlanga, South Africa

My wife and I recently went on week holiday to Umhlanga in South Africa and stayed at Umhlanga Sands. First of all I want to tell you that we had a great time there and will certainly go back.

Umhlanga is situated on South Africa’s East Coast and the closest airport is Durban International. We flew in and had a shuttle pick us up and take us through to the hotel.

The hotel room was very comfortable and all the rooms have a great sea view. They also have satellite television in the rooms if you feel like hanging in and enjoying a day ordering room service. Outside they had 2 beautiful swimming pools with loads of activities for adults and kids. There is a volleyball court, plus the beach is just a few steps away. You can also sit at the restaurant by the pool and order food and drinks and we had a few cocktails there every day.

The service was great and we a great time. We also went exploring and there are loads of things to do in and around like Ushaka Water world and Gateway shopping centre is you do feel you need anything, which by the way is huge.

If you do feel to step out and explore something different, surely give Umhlanga Sands a try, really a big thumbs up from me.

Lappa Valley Steam Railway

Lappa Valley Steam Railway, is a railway with steam trains running between Benny Halt and East Wheal Rose train stations. The train travels, as its name suggests, through the Lappa Valley. The railway was opened in 1849, so today the tracks are probably the oldest tracks in Cornwall. The original lines closed in 1963, and the Lappa Valley Railway was formed in 1974 to provide the wonderful tourist attraction we have today.

The track was changed to a minature guage track, which I presume means it was narrower than a regular track, but still capable of running a full size steam prototype (as opposed to running miniature trains). The guage is 15 inch, as opposed to a full size guage, nearly four times the size.

This is a fun day out and if you can catch a sunny day, you will enjoy the day even more. The sound of a steam train, coupled with the rumbling track and traditional steam odours make for a realistic experience.

Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a wonderful railway where one can stay close by, in the many cottages available. Cornwall’s finest cottages, some of which are cottages quite near to such a fun tourist attraction.

Who Pays For The Special Day?

Getting married these days is a very costly affair. The bill just keeps getting higher and higher as couple’s demand more and more from their special day.

For brides, there is the services of dress makers, hairdressers, makeup artists and wedding coordinators planners. As well as the venue and reception.

So it is always wise to determine who pays for what at your wedding and who will cover the largest part of your wedding budget.

Accepted Wedding Etiquette – Who Pays For the Wedding?

Traditionally, wedding etiquette guides said that the bride’s father should pay for the wedding. This was accepted because in days gone by girls were kept by their fathers and not allowed to work. Their mothers would school them in household chores and the finer points of running a house in preparation for their life as married women.

A daughter was ‘given away’ by her father to a boy or a man who his father thought could feed and look after his daughter and grandchildren. And since he would be giving his daughter away, he would host his daughter’s wedding day and pay for everything as a sign of his agreement to his daughter’s marriage and his acceptance of her husband to be.

Modern Wedding Etiquette – Who Pays For the Wedding

Today, modern wedding etiquette on who pays what for the wedding is not as rigid as it used to be. The bride and the groom can go the traditional route if they want. Asking the father of the bride to host the wedding and pay for most of the wedding costs. Often the parents of the groom will express their desire to be a co-host of the wedding event, sharing in its expenses. They will often pay for the wedding reception or other items. The way today is mutual agreement.

However, most couples nowadays are both working and earning their own money. So it may be that the bride and groom to be decide to pay for their own wedding or at least share in its costs. Some couples prefer to pay for their own wedding so that they can have complete control over the number of guests and who are and who are not invited. They want to say how the celebration of their special day should be held.

Alternative Wedding Etiquette – Various Ways of Paying.

Because of the high cost of living these days and the financial uncertainty of the times, paying for the entire cost of the wedding day may be beyond the means of both sets of parents. They may however, want to contribute what they can to the wedding expenses.

The couple should be sensitive with this matter. Don’t say no to your parents even if you think they can’t afford it. Willingly accept what they offer as it is their joy to see you get married and their pleasure to play a part in your wedding day. So sit down with your parents and discuss with them the projected costs of your wedding and ask them which part of the wedding expenses would they comfortably want to fund.

Wedding etiquette on who pays for what is not big question these days. The only etiquette that is required of bride and groom is to talk things over with their parents and come to a mutual agreement.

Universal Studios Incredible Rides

If you are looking for fun, thrills, and adventure, Universal Studios is the place to go. There are rides that will thrill you and rides that will scare you senseless. From caves to the air, there is something to please all of the thrill seekers out there.

Start your day with Revenge of the Mummy. This is a psychological thrill ride that is unlike anything you have ever experienced. This is a roller coaster ride in total darkness. Traveling at a very high speed, you will have many terrifying creatures jumping out at you. If your heart is still beating and you think you can handle more, your next stop should be Jurassic Park: The Ride.

Jurassic Park may seem a bit tame after Revenge of the Mummy, but it is still great fun, and there are still many thrills. This ride entails you riding a raft which is slowly being cranked up. Dinosaurs of various breeds appear out of nowhere while you are going up. Suddenly, you and your raft are falling quickly downhill, and the ride ends with a huge splash that leaves you soaked! Make sure you bring a change of clothes, because you will want to move on to Back to the Future.

Back to the Future will have you riding in a car like the one on the movie. The scenes from the movie literally come to life, and many people experience motion sickness…so if you are prone to motion sickness, you may want to skip this one. Other attractions not to miss if you enjoy thrills include Nickelodeon Blast Zone, Van Helsing: Fortress Dracula, the Special Effects Stages, and Shrek 4-D.

If you get scared easily, you may want to avoid these thrill rides and attractions. They are also not recommended for very young children, pregnant women, or people with heart conditions. People with anxiety issues should avoid these attractions as well. There are many tamer rides and attractions that can be enjoyed in the park if the thrill seeking rides aren’t suitable for you.

The purpose of going to the park is to have fun. If the thrill rides and attractions scare you to the point where it isn’t fun anymore, than they should be avoided. Don’t allow others in your party to coerce you into visiting the attractions that scare you too badly.

Again, there are many attractions at Universal Studios Tours that are suitable for those who aren’t comfortable with the thrill seeking rides – so don’t think that you can’t have a good time without getting scared senseless!

Here is a great website, that will help you save allot of money on your Travel expenses.

St. Thomas Vacation Packages

If you are interested in vacationing in St. Thomas it is likely that you have considered purchasing a vacation package. If you are wondering whether or not you should purchase a St. Thomas vacation package, you are not alone. A large number of individuals are confused as to whether or not they should purchase one.

One of the questions most commonly asked concerning St. Thomas vacation packages is if they are worth the money. Almost all vacation packages advertise that they will save travelers money, but others have stated otherwise. The type of package you purchase will be the deciding factor.

When examining the types of vacation packages available, you will want to take into consideration what is being offered. You will find that most vacation packages not only include hotel accommodations, but travel as well. To determine whether or not the package you are being offered will save you money, you will have to further examine the accommodations being offered in the package.

When examining travel arrangements, the St. Thomas vacation package that you are interested in purchasing should specify which particular airline you would be making reservations on. You can easily determine whether or not you are being quoted a decent price for traveling by comparing the two. Since you should know the airline that you would be required to travel on, you can research them online or directly contact an airline representative.

In addition to considering the cost of airfare, you will want to consider the cost of hotel accommodations. As with the airline, the hotel or resort which the vacation package is for should be specified upfront. Once you know the name of this hotel or resort you can easily compare prices. By visiting the hotel or resort’s online website you should be able to determine how much your reservations would cost. If online reservations are not allowed, you may have to contact the resort for an estimated cost of stay.

Travel and hotel accommodations are the two services that are most commonly found on a St. Thomas vacation package. Despite being the most popular accommodations, they are not the only ones that you may find on a vacation package. A number of resorts, discount travel websites, and travel agents are beginning to develop vacation packages that often include entertainment.

Vacation packages that offer entertainment are often compared to all-inclusive vacations, but it is important to remember that they are not the same thing. All-inclusive vacation packages will not only include overnight accommodations, travel, and entertainment, but your food and drinks as well. Most traditional St. Thomas vacation packages will not include your food and drinks. The entertainment offered often includes beach activities, such as free boat tours, scuba diving lessons, and other similar activities.

Once you have determined the estimated cost of entertainment, travel, and overnight accommodations, you can compare your total to the total cost of the vacation package. You may be surprised to see a significant difference. The difference often varies. There are many individuals who are given a great deal and others will actually lose money by purchasing a St. Thomas vacation package.

It is hard to understand why some St. Thomas vacation packages are considered great deals while others are not. Many times the difference depends on where the package was obtained from. Many individuals purchase vacation packages from discount travel websites. If you are purchasing a St. Thomas vacation package from a discount travel website, you are encouraged to look for hidden fees. A number of website charge them and they could significantly increase the cost of your vacation package.

It is not always guaranteed, but the best St. Thomas vacation packages are often obtained directly through St. Thomas resorts or through a local travel agent. Hamoa Beach Vacation

The black sand of Hamoa Beach is one of the best beaches on Maui. The water isn't too rough, there are no rocks in the surf, the crowds are minimal, and the nearby scenery is amazing. For a beach vacation, Hamoa Beach is tough to beat. Hamoa Beach is about a five to ten minute drive from the town of Hana.

The drive is easy to make, with lots of great scenery along the way. There isn't a parking lot, so you'll need to park on the side of the road and walk down the steps to the beach. Parking isn't normally a problem because the beach is never crowded. There is a beach hut on Hamoa Beach that rents body boards, snorkeling equipment, and even gives out towels to guests of the Hotel Hana Maui.

There are also beach chairs and umbrellas that are for guests only. Unless you are a guest and want a chair, the best spot on Hamoa Beach is on a big towel right in the center of the black sand. There's plenty of shade on the beach, so you won't have any trouble getting out of the sun when you have had your fill of it. The water at the beach isn't rough and there are no rocks to cut you as you swim. The waves here can get quite large, although they are easier to swim in than other beaches on the island.

Hamoa Beach is an excellent beach vacation spot, offering something for the entire family. There is always something going on here, no matter what time of year you visit. For a beach vacation that never lets up - Hamoa Beach is where you need to be.
