How to enjoy San Jose

When many people think of taking a vacation to the Bay Area of California, their first instinct is to head to San Francisco. San Francisco is an exciting city with many attractions, but have you ever considered making a stop in San Jose?

San Jose is also located in the Bay Area and has the largest population in the area. It has beautiful weather year round and is the third largest city in California.

From museums to amusement parks and so much more, San Jose is a fabulous spot to visit. San Jose started as a small farming community but eventually grew into what it is today.
It is now known for being one of the tech capitals of the country. But the farming industry can still be seen there today.

The Emma Prusch Farm Park is a good example. This urban farm has orchards, a barnyard, spots for picnicking, and places to fly kites.

Garrod Farms Stables is another example of a farm; however, it is mostly focused on horseback riding. Either spot would be a fun day trip for the whole family.

Another fun thing to do in San Jose is visit one of the many museums. The Children’s Discovery Museum is perfect for all ages.

The huge, purple building is full of hands-on exhibits including a garden, an art loft, a spot for bubbles, and a rainbow market. Hiller Aviation Museum is another attraction in the area.
This museum provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the adventure and innovation of flight. Next up is the San Jose Museum of Art.

The collection is dedicated to art of our time. On display are many contemporary and modern art pieces.
The last museum on the list is the Tech Museum. Visitors are given a hands-on look at genetics, virtual design, microchips and so much more.Everyone in the family is sure to have a good time as they interact and learn more about science and technology. If you are looking for a thrill, then head over to California’s Great America.

This theme park features thrill rides, family rides, live entertainment, a spot for small children and Boomerang Bay, which is an Australian-themed water park. Cool off in the huge wave pool, float down the lazy river or splash down one of the many waterslides.The whole park has so much to offer and will definitely be a pleaser for all ages. Another water park in the area is Raging Waters.

It is Northern California’s largest water park and features a wave pool, thrilling slides, and a pirate’s cove. Another fun spot is Golfland Family Fun Center.

This hot spot features mini golf, an arcade, and waterslides. Nickel City is a fabulous arcade with some games only costing a nickel.If you are looking for a place to get some energy out, visit Jungle Island. This indoor family entertainment center is home to giant play structures, laser tag, bumper cars, and more, all in a jungle theme.

Another place to get out some energy is Sky High Sports. This complex is full of trampolines where visitors can jump, flip, and do tricks.

They also have organized activities for visitors to participate in. If you love the outdoors then make a stop at the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy.

This beautiful park is in downtown San Jose and also features a lovely rose garden with over 3600 roses. If you are looking for a scare, check out Gyro’s 3-D Scream Fest.

This haunted house is full of 3-D haunts that are sure to put a chill down your spine. Another unique attraction is the Winchester Mystery House.

This huge mansion has 160 rooms, all of which may confuse you. On the tour you will see doors that lead to nowhere, stairs that go up into the ceiling, and windows in the middle of the floor.

The home started to be built in 1884 and was continuously changed for years. It cost $5.5 million to build, which would be equivalent to over $71 million today.

It is a sight that should not be missed. As you can see, there is plenty to do in San Jose.
It especially has a lot of attractions geared towards families. It is definitely a great spot for all ages. Enjoy your visit!
