Exploring the Philippines

World Class Destinations in the Philippines – Are you planning for a grandest vacation that looks expensive, but is actually not? I would recommend that you try to visit the island of Philippines, if well planned; it can be the cheapest destination for a holiday in Asia but can give you excellent deals with tour packages and accommodations. There are three main islands in the Philippines, and these are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Each is composed of large islands that boasted much about the beauty of this country as well as the hospitality of the Filipino people. Here are three of the major tourist attractions available in each of the main islands.

The first site to explore is the capital city, Manila located on the island of Luzon. Usually this is the entry way of guests from other countries through the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) or the Mactan Cebu International Airport, but the majority of flights originates from Asian countries only. Manila has evolved from a small tribal village into a metropolis which is now the downtown district for business, commerce and government. With an area of over 391 square miles and consisting of eight cities and nine municipalities the possibilities are endless. Activities to enjoy here, to name a few are riding in a calesa (a horse driven carriage used for transportation many centuries ago) in the alleys of Chinatown and Intramuros. Considering all the cities in the Philippines, I can say that Manila has the busiest night life of all. You can find discos and nightclubs everywhere, and you’ll never go hungry once you’re in Manila or anywhere in the Philippines, Filipinos love to eat so you’ll definitely enjoy world-class restaurants serving Filipino cuisine and international dishes. If you also want to shop, there are lots of major shopping centers in this region as well.

Your second adventure city would be Cebu. This is the second largest city in the country and the place where business and pleasure go hand in hand with the focus being on business initiatives between local and foreign investors. The tourism industry is also an important trade in Cebu. The island abounds with white sand beaches and is home to world-class five-star hotels and resorts that will not disappoint even the most adventurous traveller. Cebu is also blessed with many historical landmarks, much of these landmarks are the most important symbols reflecting the cultural history of the country such as its museums and old churches. Shopping in Cebu is fantastic as this is home to creative people with a tremendous talent in handicrafts, shell crafts, handmade guitars and many more.

Never forgotten is the city of Davao, home to the Philippines Eagle. It is located in the southeastern part of Mindanao, and is one of the largest cities in the world with an area of 1,518.39 miles square. It is the third most popular city in the Philippines after Manila and Cebu. When we talk about tourism, Davao has much to offer from her beautiful beaches to her most amazing mountains. Mountain climbing is available here to the highest peak in the Philippines, the Mount Apo. The famous Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Davao Golf and Country Club, and Eden Park are among the favorite tourist destinations in Davao. There are lots of other outdoor activities you can do such as water rafting and zip-line adventure. And if you want to discover its history and culture, then visit Davao’s museums and ancient churches in the region.

Perhaps the country’s greatest attribute is the diversity of the Filipino culture. Spanish Colonial history of the archipelago can be explored as well a further colonial architecture lines in the old town streets while the remote inland villages have preserved their own long-standing local cultures. The heritage and natural beauty of thousands of unique islands seem to want to be explored. The volcanic landscape, unspoiled jungles and expansive coastline facilitate an ideal environment in which to enjoy nature.
