The city which was once known as Bombay, is located on a long thin strip of island, just off the West Coast of Maharashtra.

As part of your visit, you should try to see the fantastic lighting at the Chowpatty beach. This is also the beach where the famous festival of the god of wisdom, Ganesha, takes place. The festival is an annual event held between August and September to celebrate his birthday. Idols of the god are immersed in the sea during the festival.

The gorgeous beaches are where you can sit and admire the views of the Arabian Sea while the palm trees blow gently in the breeze. There are many restaurants where the holiday maker can get something to eat and cafes for an ice cream or cool drink.
